Your ICBC claim is our problem, not yours.
We handle the paperwork, the adjuster calls, and the supplements from start to finish. You drop off your car and pick up a restored one. That's the whole job.
The essentials
Three things — that’s all you need to know.
You choose your shop.
ICBC does not assign you to a repair facility. You have the legal right to take your vehicle to any accredited shop you choose. The list ICBC provides is a convenience, not a requirement.
We handle the claim.
We open the file, write the estimate, submit the supplements when the adjuster asks, and communicate with ICBC directly on your behalf. That whole process sits with us — we run it every day.
You pay only your deductible.
We bill ICBC directly for the approved repair cost. If your policy includes a deductible, you pay it to us at pickup. Nothing else comes out of your pocket for covered damage.
How it works
The exact steps, in plain language.
No surprises. Here’s what happens from the moment you report to the moment you drive away.
- Step 1:
Report the accident to ICBC.
Call ICBC at 1-800-910-4222 or file online at icbc.com to report your claim. You'll receive a claim number. Always report to ICBC to start your claim regardless of severity.
- Step 2:
Choose your shop.
Once you have your claim number, contact us. ICBC’s list is a reference — the choice of shop is legally yours. Bring your vehicle to Morrey Autobody & Glass and we’ll confirm your claim details and schedule your estimate or drop-off.
- Step 3:
We write the estimate.
Our ICBC-certified estimators inspect your vehicle thoroughly — not just the visible damage. We photograph everything, document the repair scope, and submit the estimate directly to ICBC.
- Step 4:
ICBC reviews and approves.
ICBC reviews the estimate and issues an approval. If additional damage is found once the vehicle is disassembled — this is common on heavier repairs — we write a supplement and submit it for approval. You don’t chase that — we do.
- Step 5:
We repair your vehicle.
Factory-certified technicians restore your vehicle using the procedures and, where applicable, the genuine parts your manufacturer specifies. ADAS sensors and cameras are recalibrated if the repair scope requires it.
- Step 6:
We bill ICBC directly.
When the repair is complete and inspected, we submit the final invoice to ICBC. We collect your deductible at pickup — that’s the only payment you make.
- Step 7:
You pick up a restored car.
We clean and detail your vehicle before it goes back to you. Every repair we complete is backed by our lifetime warranty — in writing, for as long as you own the vehicle.
Know your rights
You are not required to use ICBC’s list.
Under BC law, you have the right to have your vehicle repaired at any accredited collision repair facility — including this one. ICBC will provide a list of shops when you file your claim. That list is a reference, not a directive.
If a claim representative suggests you must use a specific shop, or that choosing your own shop will complicate or delay your claim, you are not obligated to accept that. Your repair rights are yours.
What “ICBC accredited” means.
Accreditation means ICBC has agreed to work with a facility and bill them directly. Morrey Autobody & Glass is an ICBC-accredited shop. Your claim processes the same way here as it does anywhere on that list.
Our advice.
Choose the shop you trust. Ask about certifications, warranty, parts quality, and experience with your specific vehicle. We're happy to answer every one of those questions before you decide. Why choose Morrey Autobody & Glass →
What you pay
What you actually pay — and what you don’t.
Your deductible.
Your ICBC policy includes a deductible — the portion of the repair cost you are responsible for, regardless of fault. You pay this amount to us at vehicle pickup. We collect nothing else for ICBC-covered damage.
At-fault vs. not-at-fault.
If the other driver is found at fault (or partially at fault), your deductible may be reduced or waived, depending on the outcome of ICBC’s fault determination. We’re not the ones who set fault — that’s ICBC’s process — but we can explain what to expect at each stage.
Will a claim affect my rates?
ICBC’s Enhanced Care model changed how claims affect premiums. In general, at-fault crashes can affect your driver risk premium at renewal. ICBC’s website and your broker are the right resources for your specific policy — we handle the repair side, not the premium side.
Direct billing.
We invoice ICBC directly for the approved repair amount. There is no scenario where you receive a cheque from ICBC and have to forward it to us — we handle the billing end to end.

The friction we absorb so you don’t feel it.
We work with ICBC claims all day, every day. Here’s what that means for you in practice.
- We handle: Estimate and documentation — We write the initial estimate and photograph all damage in the format ICBC requires.
- We handle: Supplement submissions — When hidden damage is found (it often is), we write the supplement, submit it, and follow up with the adjuster until it’s approved. You hear about it only if it affects your timeline.
- We handle: Parts coordination — We source OEM and ICBC-approved parts, flag lead times early, and keep your repair moving.
- We handle: Adjuster communication — If the adjuster has questions about the scope or a line item, we answer them. You are not in the middle of that conversation.
- We handle: Final billing — We submit the completed repair invoice directly. You pay your deductible and collect your keys.
- We handle: Warranty documentation — We provide written lifetime warranty documentation on the completed repair before you leave.
Not an ICBC claim?
We work with all major insurers.
If your vehicle is covered by a private auto insurer, a fleet policy, or an employer plan, the process is similar: we write the estimate, communicate with your adjuster, and direct-bill wherever your insurer allows. Contact us with your insurer name and claim number and we'll confirm the billing path.
Paying out of pocket? No problem. We provide the same written estimate, the same repair quality, and the same lifetime warranty. Payment is due at pickup.
Answers
Questions we hear most.
No. ICBC does not require you to get competing estimates before proceeding with a repair. One estimate from an accredited shop — like ours — is sufficient to start the claims and repair process.
We recommend reporting to ICBC first so you have a claim number before we begin. That said, you’re welcome to call us right after the accident — we can walk you through the reporting steps and help you know what to expect.
If your vehicle needs to be towed, call us or use our towing request page and we’ll arrange pickup. Towing is generally covered under your ICBC claim for accident-related damage.
A supplement is an additional estimate submitted to ICBC when the technician uncovers damage that wasn’t visible during the initial inspection — common on structural or hidden-panel repairs. We submit supplements quickly and follow up actively. Most supplements are approved within one to three business days. We build anticipated supplement time into our repair schedule so delays are minimized.
ICBC’s parts authorization policy allows OEM, quality aftermarket, and rebuilt parts depending on the vehicle age, part type, and availability. As a factory-certified shop, we advocate for genuine parts on the systems where it matters — particularly safety-critical components and newer vehicles. We’ll be transparent with you about what’s authorized on your specific claim.
If ICBC determines your repair cost exceeds a threshold relative to your vehicle’s actual cash value, they may declare it a total loss. If that’s a possibility, we’ll tell you early — and because we’re also a Morrey dealership, we can show you what a replacement would cost, side by side, so you can make that decision with the full picture.
It depends on the severity of the damage, parts availability, and ICBC approval timing. A minor repair may take two to four business days; a structural or full-panel repair may take two to four weeks. We give you a realistic timeline at estimate and update you as the repair progresses.
