Replaced right — including the safety system behind it.
A windshield does more than keep the wind out. It's the mount for your forward-collision camera, your lane-departure sensor, and your rain detector. We replace the glass and recalibrate every system it carries.
About this service
What is Auto Glass — and when do you need it?
Auto glass service covers everything from a small rock chip to a full windshield, side window, or rear glass replacement. The question of repair versus replacement depends on size, depth, location, and whether the damage is in your direct sight line. A chip or crack that can be resin-filled is faster and costs less. A crack that has grown, a chip in the driver's line of sight, or impact damage that has compromised the glass structurally means the windshield has to be replaced — with OEM or OEM-equivalent glass matched to your vehicle's specifications. Most auto glass shops stop at "glass in, sealed, done." On any vehicle with a windshield-mounted camera — forward-collision, lane-keep, emergency braking — the camera must be recalibrated to the new glass position before those systems work correctly. We include this as part of every applicable replacement.
Right situation
Signs you need this service
- A rock chip — before it spreads into a crack
- A crack longer than approximately 25 mm or inside your primary view zone
- Any crack that has grown or is in your direct line of sight
- A side window or rear glass broken by an impact or break-in
- Windshield replacement after a collision — with ADAS recalibration
The Morrey difference
Why factory certification matters for auto glass.
OEM-spec glass for your exact vehicle
Windshields for a 2023 Nissan Rogue, a 2022 Infiniti QX50, and a 2024 Volvo XC90 are not interchangeable. Each is engineered to specific curvature, acoustic, and UV-rejection specs. We source glass to OEM specifications for every vehicle we service — not whatever fits closest.
ADAS recalibration, included
When a windshield-mounted camera is involved — forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure, adaptive cruise control — recalibration is part of the job. We use the equipment your vehicle manufacturer requires. If it's not calibrated, those systems don't function as designed, and you may not know until you need them.
ICBC-direct billing for glass claims
Rock chips and windshield damage are among the most common ICBC claims in BC. We handle the approval and bill directly. Out-of-pocket cost depends on your specific ICBC coverage — we confirm that when you bring the vehicle in.
Same lifetime warranty
Our workmanship — seal integrity, recalibration accuracy — is covered for as long as you own the vehicle.
How it works
How Auto Glass works at Morrey Autobody & Glass.
- Step 1:
Assess the damage
We examine the chip or crack to determine repair eligibility. If it's repairable, we explain why and what to expect. If it needs replacement, we tell you that too.
- Step 2:
ICBC or self-pay — we handle either
For ICBC claims, we submit directly. For self-pay, we give you a clear total before any work starts.
- Step 3:
Glass sourced and installed
OEM-spec glass ordered for your vehicle. Installed with OEM-approved adhesive, cured to factory standards. We don't rush the cure time — seal integrity is non-negotiable.
- Step 4:
ADAS recalibration (if applicable)
Camera and sensor systems remounted and calibrated using manufacturer-approved equipment. We confirm the system passes diagnostic before the vehicle leaves.
- Step 5:
Inspection and delivery
Final quality check — no leaks, no optical distortion, all safety systems confirmed operational. Your car comes back clean.

Questions about auto glass.
- Will ICBC cover my windshield repair or replacement?
- Glass and windshield coverage depends on your specific ICBC policy — the extent of coverage and whether a deductible applies varies by the coverage you carry. We check your coverage when you bring the vehicle in and handle the claim directly with ICBC — you don't have to call them yourself.
- Do I really need ADAS recalibration after a windshield replacement?
- If your vehicle has a windshield-mounted camera — which includes most vehicles built after 2018 — yes. The camera's position relative to the new glass is different from the old glass, even by fractions of a millimetre. That variance throws off the calibration. An uncalibrated system may not trigger when it should. We recalibrate on every applicable replacement.
- How long does a windshield replacement take?
- The installation itself takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours. ADAS recalibration adds time depending on the system and vehicle. Plan for a half-day; we'll give you a specific estimate when you book.
- Can I drive immediately after a windshield replacement?
- Not immediately — the adhesive needs cure time before the seal is structural. We'll give you a specific safe-drive time based on the product used and ambient conditions. Never before then.
- What if I have a crack but I'm not sure if it needs replacement?
- Bring it in or send a photo. We'll give you an honest read. Some cracks can be repaired; some can't. We won't push a replacement if repair will do the job.
